SnoCo Futures℠

Local Career Connected Learning Program

Become a part of our region’s future by joining SnoCo Futures℠, a local career exploration program! Future-ready companies know that tomorrow’s workforce is today’s students, and we’ll help you get ready for the future!

We are excited to announce SnoCo Futures℠, a local career connected learning program! Through this program, we connect students with local STEM professionals for school visits, career panels, as well as a variety of other events. We believe that by bringing together students and local STEM professionals, we can spark an interest in STEM fields, build community relationships, and grow our region’s talent pipeline.

What is SnoCo Futures℠?

SnoCo Futures℠ is a multifaceted initiative designed to prepare students for careers in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) and innovation, by connecting local businesses with education to give students opportunities to engage directly with local STEM professionals.

The goal of SnoCo Futures℠ is to spark an interest in STEM fields to support development of a more diverse workforce in STEM fields. Connecting students with local STEM professionals helps them to gain an understanding of what it takes to grow a career in these fields by hearing experiences first hand from people who are already working in them. This helps students see themselves as future professionals and motivates them to pursue careers that align with their interests and strengths.

Being a part of SnoCo Futures℠ comes with a lot of rewarding benefits for STEM professionals. Not only will you be able to spread your knowledge and expertise to students — many of whom are from non-traditional STEM backgrounds — but you will also be able to find new talent for your organization. There is no cost involved in this initiative, so why not get started today?

Currently, SnoCo Futures℠ is focusing on serving Snohomish County students in grades 6-12 as well as post-secondary students.

Developed in spring 2021, the program is a collaboration between the Snohomish STEM Network, Economic Alliance Snohomish County, local industries, and Snohomish County school districts. Funding for the first year was made possible by a generous grant from the Boeing Global Engagement program.
