About STEM Like Me!®
STEM Like Me!® connects middle and high school students with local STEM professionals through fun, interactive, career-connected learning sessions held right in their classrooms.
Each session features local industry professionals—scientists, engineers, technicians, tradespeople, and innovators—who share their career journeys and lead hands-on activities that bring science, technology, engineering, and math to life.
The program helps students see themselves in future STEM careers, gain confidence, and understand how classroom learning connects to the world of work.
STEM Like Me!® is an innovative career exploration program originally developed by The STEM Foundation, in Washington’s Mid-Columbia region. Snohomish STEM is proud to carry this impactful model forward here in Snohomish County, and uses the name and model with their permission.
Why STEM Like Me!®?
Many students don’t realize the variety of STEM-related opportunities available in their own communities. By bringing professionals into the classroom, STEM Like Me!® helps students:
- Discover how local employers use STEM every day.
- Connect with role models who reflect their interests and backgrounds.
- Explore multiple career pathways—from aerospace and biotech to energy, construction, and information technology.
- Build excitement for continued learning in STEM subjects.
For employers and volunteers, STEM Like Me!® provides a simple, high-impact way to inspire the next generation of innovators while strengthening the local talent pipeline.
Program Impact
Snohomish STEM evaluates each STEM Like Me!® event through pre- and post-surveys to measure changes in student awareness, confidence, and interest in STEM careers.
Students consistently report increased understanding of local STEM career options and greater interest in pursuing STEM-related fields after participating in the program.

Over the past several years, Snohomish STEM has connected over 2,000 students from middle and high schools across the county with more than 50 local employers and professionals.
These hands-on career exploration sessions continue to strengthen the bridge between education and real-world career opportunities.
History
Snohomish STEM began hosting STEM Like Me!® programs in 2019 as part of its commitment to expanding career-connected learning opportunities for local students in partnership with local school districts, businesses, and community organizations.
Since then, the program has steadily grown—reaching more schools, engaging more employers, and evolving into an all-day, interactive model that allows students to explore multiple STEM pathways in a single event.
In recent years, Snohomish STEM has also launched a VIP Tour component, welcoming community and business leaders to see the program firsthand and learn how partnerships help inspire the region’s future workforce.

Sponsorship Opportunity: STEM Like Me!®
Your sponsorship helps Snohomish STEM sustain and expand these impactful, hands-on learning experiences for students across Snohomish County.
STEM Like Me!® is made possible through the contributions of local employers and community sponsors. Sponsorships ensure the program remains free for schools and students while sustaining the behind-the-scenes coordination that brings it to life.
Sponsorship Levels:
Presenting Sponsor – $2,000
“Presented by” recognition on all materials, priority logo placement, verbal recognition during the student welcome, featured social media highlights, recognition in Snohomish STEM & EASC newsletters, invitation to observe the event (VIP Tour), and opportunity to host a career resource/demo table.
Partner Sponsor – $1,000
Logo on event materials, recognition in Snohomish STEM social media, and choice of invitation to observe the event (VIP Tour).
Community Sponsor – $500
Logo on event materials and Snohomish STEM’s website, group social media thank-you, and option to provide branded swag or prize giveaways for students.
Friend of STEM Like Me – $250
Name listed on handouts and website, group social media thank-you.
In addition, STEM Like Me Career Partners (local employers hosting career stations) are recognized for their vital in-kind contribution of time, expertise, and staff support.
